Daniela Tinoco
Artwork Description
"National Biographic is part of a larger project that explores how national identities are shaped, remaining vigilant to the colonial and racist foundations that continue to underpin nation-states. By reworking iconography from National Geographic magazine—a historical source for Western perspectives on “other” cultures—Daniela Tinoco creates a space for people to come together and share their own counter-narratives. Through this collective reclamation of agency, solidarity is fostered among San Francisco State University community members engaged in various struggles of resistance. Collaborators: Emily Gonzalez-Zeas, Crystal Jauregui, Venus Harvey, Sophia Vallardares, Kimberly Beutin, Vi Lee, Mariela Esquivel, Aaliyah Andino, Jordaye Simone, Jordan Madayag, Daisy Vang, Char Bennett, Renna Lanney Johnson, Zixuan Zhang. 15 different pieces available, should be shown in a group of minimum 6 pieces, closer look at: https://www.danielatinoco.com/portfolio/natbio" Las piezas se venden por separado.
