Janina Frye is a German artist based in Amsterdam. Her installations explore the porous boundary between intimacy and control, often drawing on materials such as latex, ceramics, and pneumatic systems. By investigating how emotional and somatic experiences are shaped by material and spatial structures, Frye’s work engages both the psychological and the physical. She holds an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art in London and a BA in Fine Art from AKV St. Joost Her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions such as South London Gallery (London), P/////AKT (Amsterdam), Kunstverein Friedrichshafen (Germany), ACRE (Berlin), and Galleria Fran Reus (Palma). She has participated in international residency programs, including the European Ceramic Workshop Center (Oisterwijk, NL) and ACRE (Berlin, DE). Currently funded by the Mondriaan Fund and the AFK (Amsterdamse Fund voor de Kunst).
