Antonio Barrientos (Puebla, 1988) utiliza fotografía, dibujo, video e instalación para explorar las tensiones entre visibilidad y opacidad como estrategias de construcción y cuestionamiento de la identidad. A partir de elementos autobiográficos y de la experimentación formal —mediante la incorporación de microorganismos, fluidos y fármacos—, su obra aborda las relaciones entre cuerpo y deseo, lo íntimo y lo común. Actualmente forma parte de la XXI Bienal de Fotografía del Centro de la Imagen.

Antonio Barrientos (Puebla, 1988) works with photography, drawing, video, and installation to explore the tensions between visibility and opacity as strategies for constructing and questioning identity. Drawing on autobiographical elements and formal experimentation through the incorporation of microorganisms, bodily fluids, and medical drugs—his work addresses the relationships between body and desire, and between the intimate and the common. His work has been selected for the XXI Biennial of Photography at the Centro de la Imagen.
